Another 2022 starting quarterback announced his transfer portal destination today, and I very much appreciate these big commitments coming before I click publish. Yesterday, I was seconds away from sending the Gunslinger Buzz Daily to subscribers when news broke about Auburn QB TJ Finley (Stats) revealing his intentions to hit the portal.

Northwestern lands Cincinnati transfer QB Ben Bryant
SCOOP: Ben Bryant
Ben Bryant (Stats) transferred away from Cincinnati for the second time with an Eastern Michigan stint in between and should be in a good position to start at Northwestern for his final year of eligibility. The Wildcats have Brendan Sullivan (Stats) and Ryan Hilinski (Stats) at the top of the depth chart, but Bryant has the more productive experience as a starter the last couple seasons.

Sam Houston State adds North Texas transfer QB Grant Gunnell

Grant Gunnell’s (Stats) busy college football career will continue at Sam Houston State, which is in its first season as an FBS program. The Texas native played two seasons at Arizona, one at Memphis and one at North Texas before joining the Bearkats. Gunnell has two seasons of eligibility remaining, and it’ll be interesting to see where he lands in a quarterback room that really struggled in 2022. Sam Houston State also offered 2024 3-star QB Ethan Terrell (TX) today.

Syracuse going after Charlotte transfer QB Xavier Williams
SCOOP: Xavier Williams
Xavier Williams (Stats) has been getting plenty of attention since entering the transfer portal last week and added another offer from Syracuse, joining UCF and Kent State. Williams saw playing time as a redshirt freshman at Charlotte in 2022 with three years of eligibility remaining. The Orange lost backup Justin Lamson (Stats) to the portal last week, and Williams would be a solid addition to the QB room behind returning starter Garrett Shrader (Stats).

UCF QB Will Bohn enters transfer portal
SCOOP: Will Bohn
Will Bohn wasn’t a threat to move too high up the UCF quarterback depth chart after not playing a snap in his lone season with the Knights in 2022. Prior to UCF, Bohn was at Coffeyville Community College with three years of eligibility remaining.
