COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Former Florida QB Jalen Kitna (Stats) entered the transfer portal days after accepting a plea deal to dismiss five felony child pornography charges, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. Kitna was arrested in late November and was quickly dismissed from the program. He played in four games in 2022 and would have three years of eligibility remaining if another program adds Kitna to the roster.
Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei (Stats) was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the MLB Draft. The former 5-star QB prospect who spent the last three seasons at Clemson heard his name called in the 20th round. Uiagalelei hasn’t played baseball since high school, so this probably won’t result in anything but a cool story. He’s expected to be the Beavers’ starting quarterback this fall, though he’ll have to beat out Ben Gulbranson (Stats) during camp.
Oklahoma sent an offer to 2024 4-star QB Trever Jackson (FL), he announced on Twitter. Jackson is one of the last uncommitted blue-chip quarterback prospects in the 2024 recruiting class and landed a monster offer this week. The Sooners already have a commitment from 4-star Michael Hawkins (TX) in the class, but either they’re looking to add a second quarterback or building insurance in case Hawkins decommits. Regardless, where Jackson lands might be the biggest story remaining in this recruiting cycle when it comes to the QBs.
