COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Quarterback Central | Teams | Players
2026 4-star QB Julian Lewis (GA) committed to USC this morning, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Lewis became the second quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class to announce a commitment, joining future South Carolina QB Landon Duckworth. It’s hard to make a case against the top quarterback in the class committing to a Lincoln Riley-led offense that has been incredible for QB development. The Trojans don’t have a quarterback committed in 2024 or 2025, and Lewis could be a candidate to reclassify.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said the staff is split on which quarterback should start, according to Eleven Warriors’ Dan Hope. Day said there’s a chance Kyle McCord (Stats) and Devin Brown (Stats) both play in the Buckeyes’ season-opener against Indiana. McCord may be the favorite simply based on being in the program longer but regardless, Ohio State is still unsettled at the quarterback position less than two weeks from game day.
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe (Stats) remains at the top of the pecking order, according to The Tuscaloosa News’ Nick Kelly. Milroe worked with the first-team offense in the first series of a recent scrimmage, followed by Ty Simpson (Stats) working with the twos. Previous reports have said Simpson and Milroe separated themselves from Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner (Stats), and Milroe appears to be in the lead at this point as we get closer to game week.
DEPTH CHART & INJURY REPORT

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said the QB battle between Conner Weigman (Stats) and Max Johnson (Stats) is ongoing, according to Aggie Yell’s Mark Passwaters. Both quarterbacks have been working with the first-team offense during fall camp, so it’s difficult to get a read on who the favorite is at this point. If I had to pick one, let’s go with Weigman as a former 5-star quarterback who took over the starting role as a true freshman in 2022.
