COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said starting QB Conner Weigman (Stats) is day-to-day with a sprained ankle, but it’s not a high-ankle sprain. This goes against an earlier report from Aggies Today that said he’s out 2-4 weeks with a high-ankle sprain. Weigman left last week’s game late in the first half and never returned to the field with Max Johnson (Stats) taking over.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said he does not know which QB will start on Saturday vs. Michigan and is looking forward to seeing how healthy QBs Jeff Sims (Stats) and Heinrich Haarberg (Stats) are during Tuesday’s practice. Haarberg made his second consecutive start last week due to Sims’ ankle injury, and Chubba Purdy (Stats) finished the game with Haarberg dealing with tightness. Haarberg and Sims are listed as co-starters at the top of the depth chart.

Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire said starting QB Tyler Shough (Stats) will undergo surgery on Tuesday and miss 6-8 weeks with a broken fibula. Behren Morton (Stats) will take over as the starter for Saturday vs. Houston with true freshman Jake Strong (Stats) moving up to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart while Shough is out.

Week 5 College Football QB Depth Charts & Injury Reports

Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said he’d love for QB Cam Rising (Stats) to make his season debut on Friday at Oregon State as his torn ACL recovery continues. Rising and Nate Johnson (Stats) continue to split reps in practice just like last week, and Johnson would likely make his third consecutive start if Rising is not cleared.
