College football QB news of the day

Today starts a 10-day stretch that will include at least six quarterback prospects announcing their college decisions. Some of the biggest names in the 2024 QB recruiting class are set to come off the board as the list includes one 5-star, three 4-stars and two 3-stars.

Quarterback commitments usually come in bunches, so we could be set up for a busy spring of announcements. Let’s get into it.

2024 4-star Jake Merklinger will commit today, stream it live

All signs point to Tennessee landing a second blue-chip quarterback prospect in consecutive seasons as predictions continue to pile in on Jake Merklinger (GA) picking the Vols. Merklinger will announce his decision at 12:10 p.m. ET, and it will air on the 247Sports’ YouTube channel here.

2024 3-star Micah Alejado reveals commitment date
SCOOP: Micah Alejado
Micah Alejado (NV) will reveal his college decision on Sunday and didn’t reveal any finalists, though his recruitment has primarily involved schools from the Mountain West. He received offers from in-state Nevada and UNLV in January to go along with Utah State and Old Dominion. Alejado is originally from Hawaii, and his first FBS offer came from the Rainbow Warriors. If I had to make a guess, Hawaii will get its first 2024 QB commitment this weekend.

2024 3-star Ethan Minter will announce college decision today
SCOOP: Ethan Minter
Virginia is the frontrunner to land in-state Ethan Minter (VA), who is set to announce his commitment at 3 p.m. (probably ET) from his high school. There doesn’t appear to be a stream for the announcement, but his player profile on the site will be updated with a link later today if there’s a way to check out his decision live while you pretend to be working this afternoon.
