COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT

Quarterback Central | Teams | Players

Ohio State QB Kyle McCord (Stats) said his ankle is feeling pretty good heading into Saturday’s game against Rutgers. He was clearly limited during last week’s win over Wisconsin but said he never considered leaving the game. McCord originally suffered this injury against Ohio State before aggravating it against the Badgers. McCord never missed a snap, and Tristan Gebbia (Stats) would’ve been the next guy in with Devin Brown (Stats) unavailable. Brown returned to practice this week, though it’s unclear if he will play with an ankle injury.

Coastal Carolina head coach Tim Beck said QB Grayson McCall (Stats) not been cleared heading into Saturday’s game at Old Dominion. He missed the previous game after exiting the prior matchup in an ambulance. Beck did not provide a timetable for when McCall may be available, but expect Jarrett Guest (Stats) to make his second consecutive start this weekend.

Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea said the plan is for QBs Ken Seals (Stats) and Walter Taylor (Stats) to play on Saturday against Auburn. Seals started four consecutive games with AJ Swann (Stats) recovering from an elbow injury before Taylor replaced him in the second quarter of last week’s loss to Ole Miss. Earlier this week, Lea said Swann is questionable, though it seems like this will be a Seals and Taylor game.

Thursday Game Day QB Notes

TCU head coach Sonny Dykes said QB Chandler Morris (Stats) is ahead of schedule by a week or two, though it seems unlikely he will be available tonight at Texas Tech. The Horned Frogs will likely roll with Josh Hoover (Stats) for his third straight start as Morris recovers from a knee injury. Morris is not on the depth chart with Grant Tisdale (Stats) and Jimmy Weirick (Stats) behind Hoover.
