COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Quarterback Central | Teams | Players
Arizona State true freshman QB Jaden Rashada (Stats) received all the first-team reps during Monday’s practice, according to Sun Devil Source’s Chris Karpman. Trenton Bourguet (Stats) took reps with the second team, while Drew Pyne (Stats) remains out with a hamstring injury. Bourguet is still likely the frontrunner at this point, and throwing Rashada into the mix could simply be to get him ready to be the Week 1 backup if Pyne’s injury forces him to miss part of the regular season. Head coach Kenny Dillingham did not reveal how long Pyne may be out.
Oregon State QB DJ Uiagalelei (Stats) is running away with the starting quarterback competition, according to The Oregonian’s Nick Daschel. Ben Gulbranson (Stats) put together a strong effort, but this appears to be headed in the Clemson transfer’s direction after a strong scrimmage performance over the weekend. A starting QB has yet to be named in this battle, but Uiagalelei is in a good spot after being a two-year starter with the Tigers.
It’s commitment day for 2025 3-star QB Sawyer Anderson (TX), he announced on Twitter. It’s unclear what time the announcement will take place or if a live stream available, but it’s not much of a secret for where this is headed. Anderson has six predictions to land at Purdue from 247Sports, On3 and Rivals within the past week. He didn’t put out a list of finalists but posted a graphic showing all 25 programs that sent a scholarship offer.
DEPTH CHART & INJURY REPORT
Week 1 College football QB depth charts & injuries
Virginia head coach Tony Elliott true freshman QB Anthony Colandrea (Stats) is pushing Tony Muskett (Stats) for the starting quarterback spot, according to CBS19’s Preston Willett. This was assumed to be Muskett’s job when Jay Woolfolk (Stats) left the team to focus on baseball this offseason. It probably still is, but it has to be encouraging on the development of Colandrea that he’s already inside the two-deep on the depth chart. We’ve seen crazier things happen, but I’ll bet Muskett is the Week 1 starting quarterback.
