MY TOP THREE
Kansas State QB Avery Johnson made his first start in Thursday’s 28-19 Pop-Tarts Bowl win over NC State. He played eight games as a true freshman and if it wasn’t already obvious Johnson is the future, three of the Wildcats’ top four QBs entered the transfer portal. Stats: Johnson
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule confirmed 2024 5-star QB Dylan Raiola (GA) will compete for the starting role next season. The Cornhuskers were among the most aggressive teams in the quarterback market when the transfer portal opened but as of now, it would be up to Raiola and Heinrich Haarberg. Stats: Haarberg
USC head coach Lincoln Riley said Miller Moss might’ve scared off transfer QBs considering the Trojans after leading them to a 42-28 Holiday Bowl win vs. Louisville. Riley seemed to be half-joking with that comment, but he said in the past Moss will compete for the starting spot even if USC goes into the transfer portal. The Trojans have been the favorite for Kansas State transfer Will Howard for weeks but if no moves are made, Moss is the guy in 2024. Stats: Moss, Howard

DEPTH CHART & INJURY REPORT
Texas A&M QB Jaylen Henderson underwent successful surgery on his non-throwing arm after an injury on the first play of Wednesday’s 31-23 Texas Bowl loss to Oklahoma State. Henderson took over as the starter this season after multiple QB injuries and is likely to slot in as the backup to Conner Weigman in 2024. True freshman Marcel Reed played nearly every snap in the bowl game. Scoop | Stats: Henderson, Weigman, Reed
